Left 4 Dead - (Time limited) demo for everyone out today

If you pre-ordered through Steam you've been enjoying the Left 4 Dead demo for the past few days and (confession time), we've all been so busy playing it here at PW, that's why you haven't had an update since last week's charts. That's how crazily addictive the game is, and that's only the truncated level and a half of co-op or NPC-aided play in the main campaign. We can tell you that even as a pre-order the game is displaying the "Harry Potter effect" and is topping the charts in Steam without actually having launched.
To see whether the boxed version of L4D can have the same impressive start, you'll have to wait two weeks for the chart report. This first demo will be switched off on launch day giving the undecided one week to play, so we're hoping Valve will have other playable promotional material beyond its USD 10million of advertising.
