Grand Theft Auto IV - sold 609,000 on day one in UK, grossing UKP 24million

First sales figures came through which brought 335,000 were sold on the 360 and the remainder on PS3. Rockstar beat their own record for San Andreas, which broke the half-million sales barrier by 1000 copies three and a half years ago. No figures have emerged for the sales of consoles bundled with the game. Those sales grossed USD 48million/UKP 24million
This means that it will easily make back its USD 100 million/UK 67million budget with the remainder of sales, as long as the company can get on with patching its faults.
